The Bluegrass Special with Wayne Rice

Sundays, 10pm to Midnight

Please note: Past programs of The Bluegrass Special are no longer available online.  While we would love to provide these shows for streaming, music content copyright issues prevent us from making the shows available online after they have aired.

The Bluegrass Special is hosted by Wayne Rice, an award-winning bluegrass music DJ and banjo-player. His old band Brush Arbor won two ACM Awards and was a final nominee for CMA Vocal Group of the Year. He has performed on the Grand Ole Opry and worked with many bluegrass and country artists like Bill Monroe, Earl Scruggs, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard.

He is a lifetime member of the International Bluegrass Music Association and former producer of their annual awards show. When he's not doing his bluegrass program on KSON, he serves in a church, writes books and enjoys hanging out with his family, especially his five grandchildren.
