“KIMO”, (Hawaiian for James). So, with that in mind, alooooooohhhhhhaaaa San Diego!
Kimo has been a part of the KSON team for over fifteen years…a long time by radio standards. Through the years, he has compiled a long list of accolades from the Country Music Association
in Nashville, the Academy of Country Music
, to right here in San Diego, a place he’s called home since 1983. His radio travels have taken him from Los Angeles to New York. He even worked for years internationally in Mexico and “Even though I thought I was just visiting back in ’83, I absolutely love this city and plan on living here the rest of my life. There’s just not a better city in the country!”
Kimo and his wife share a passion for the outdoors…scuba diving, surfing and hiking in the Summer…and snowboarding and skiing in the Winter.
Kimo also takes time to help out with causes that are near and dear to his heart, raising millions of dollars for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
, the San Diego Humane Society
, and S.P.C.A.
His efforts with our local military and their families have resulted not only in support for our troops but also a tribute to our military on Lonestar’s
Greatest Hits album, a song he produced called “I’m Already There (Messages From Home)”.
Weekday afternoons from 2-7pm, you can hear Kimo doing what he does best, getting you through traffic keeping you updated on what’s been happening while you were stuck at work but, most important of all, making you think and smile on your way home.(3/07)
