Best Viewing For San Diego's 'Parade of Lights'

December 9, 2016

Get ready for one of San Diego's best-loved holiday traditions!  It's the 45th Annual San Diego Bay Parade of Lights!

The parade happens over the next two Sundays (Dec. 11 and 18) and begins at 5:00pm.

The theme for this year's parade - "It Began with a Roar – San Diego Zoo Celebrates 100 Years."  Crowds can expect several dozen vessels to take part, all adorned with lights and decorations in connection with this year's theme.

If you're looking for the best locations to view the parade, head to Harbor Island, the Embarcadero, Seaport Village, and the Ferry Landing and Tidelands Park over on the Coronado side of the bay.

At the foot of Broadway Pier, the Port of San Diego will have seating, plus food and music.

As with any event this size in San Diego, it's always a good idea to use public transportion as the parking lots will fill up quickly!
