LV Strip Is Dim for 11 Minutes to Honor Rte. 91 Victims

October 9, 2017

A week after the shooting and the lone gunman killed 58 people and injured over 500, the Las Vegas strip went dim to honor the lives lost at the Route 91 Harvest Festival.

From 10:05PM until 10:16, lights went dark and dimly lit across the sky and strip of Las Vegas. The 11 minutes mark the length of the attack on Oct. 1. Over 60 casinos and companies in the area all agreed to turn off their marquees and soften their lights in honor of the victims, although the city was far from dark.

During the entire day, visitors and residents of the area came together in unison to honor those who lost their lives.
